‘Sick of Smoking’ includes three popular methods to help you quit smoking:

- Scheduled reduction or tapering: creates a series of cigarette ‘appointments’ for each day. The time between these appointments is gradually lengthened until you stop smoking completely. The idea is that the fewer cigarettes you smoke, the less your nicotine addiction and the easier it is to quit.

- Cold turkey: provides tips to help maximise your chances of quitting.

- Hypnosis: features two hypnotic sessions with or without soothing background sounds.

Quitting smoking is difficult but staying smoke free for good is the real challenge. Smokers are most likely to relapse in the first few days because this is when nicotine withdrawal effects are at their strongest. ‘Sick of Smoking’ helps you cope with these effects by identifying their symptoms and offering practical solutions for managing them.

Even after the withdrawal effects have abated many people relapse, particularly within the first two years of quitting. ‘Sick of Smoking’ includes the following motivational tools to help you remain smoke free:

- Benefits since quitting: records the time and money you have saved as well as estimating your health improvements since quitting.

- Myths about smoking: addresses some of the most common misconceptions about smoking.

- Smoking IQ: a knowledge test that covers the effects of smoking and the tobacco industry. You wouldn’t believe the answers to some of the test questions, particularly those covering the tobacco industry.

Gr8 app!

I'm using tapering/step down at the moment and now smoking 5 cigs a day instead of 20! Like the smoking IQ (my score is 270 out of 300!) and smoking myths sections. Health benefits section also very useful.

Good job

With scheduled reduction (which tells you when you can have another cigarette) I've cut back but still a ways to go yet. I understand it's a gradual thing though. Think I'll also use the hypnosis bit of the app at night as well - before i goto sleep. Lots of useful info here like coping with withrawal (know I'll need that one). Keeps track of benefits to my body when i do finally kick it. Good work here...

Doesn't work!

Must have a bug or something because instead of giving my time to my next cigarette it says "not applicable"!! Worked for one day! That's it!!!!!
